We have a fantastic opportunity for a Transport Optimizer within our growing European Transportation Hub team. Our Transportation Hubs have responsibility for planning and executing Nestlé’s transportation that simplifies and standardizes our European distribution processes.

We are looking for you to join our team in our Central European Transportation Hub in Warsaw with focus on national transportation in Germany, Switzerland and Austria with roughly 80.000 transports per year.

Key responsibilities:

The Transport Optimizer position is responsible for load planning within normal lead time, securing appointments, and the initial load tender. The Transport Optimizer interacts with many internal and external critical partners. The position requires an established and productive individual who is aligned with the expectations and objectives of the Supply Chain as they conduct their daily operational activities.

Main tasks include:

• Efficient and effective planning of transports of Nestlé products utilizing the Transportation Hub tools and processes to exceed service expectations

• Collaboration with cross-functional areas including customer service, carriers, warehouses, and demand & supply planning

• Taking initiative and making decisions independently weighing customer needs, warehouse requirements, carrier capacity, and escalating as appropriate

• Analysis and elimination of root causes of frequently occurring problems in cooperation with other departments

• Reporting and analysis of operational indicators

• Creation of good, fully optimized Freight Orders while respecting relation between appointments and transit time

• Ensure all demand is planned when it should be planned

• Initial Carrier Selection

• Being the transportation point of contact for assigned factory/distribution center locations

• Shaping the approach how Nestlé will manage transportation in the future in Europe

• Active participation and contribution to the implementation project of our newly opened Transportation Hub in Warsaw

• Build strong working relationships with internal and external customers

Required key skills:

• Transportation and/or logistics experience preferred

• Very good oral and written German language skills. English language communicatively

• Very good interpersonal skills, building lasting relationships and communication skills

• Problem solving skills

• Analytical, decision-making and good judgment is required

• Resistance to stress and ability to work under time pressure

• Highly curious and eager to learn
