Boeing Brazil is seeking a Sustainable Fuels Engineer , reporting to the BR&T-Brazil Director , working out of the São José dos Campos - SP office .

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced, sustainability focused engineer to join our team. Your expertise will contribute to the development and implementation of sustainable practices within the aviation industry.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, sustainability, and a passion for environmental stewardship.

Candidates will have familiarity with the aviation industry commitments to decarbonizing and will have a proven ability to engage and inspire multiple internal and external stakeholders involved in sustainable fuels research.

Responsibilities :

• Conduct comprehensive literature reviews and evaluations of sustainable aviation fuel roadmaps and feedstock availability studies and contribute to the development of aviation decarbonization scenarios based on those studies.

• Provide technical expertise and guidance to internal and external stakeholders on sustainable aviation fuel-related projects, considering the feasibility, scalability, and environmental impact of proposed solutions.

• Contribute sustainable fuels and fuels properties expertise to development and pursuit of external funding opportunities and support the execution of those projects.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies for the adoption and integration of sustainable aviation fuels.

• Track and communicate the latest advancements in sustainable aviation fuels, feedstock availabilities, and emerging technologies.

• Stay up to date on industry regulations and market trends on sustainable aviation fuels.

• Collaborate with external partners, industry organizations, and regulatory bodies to drive the development and implementation of sustainable aviation fuel initiatives.

• Prepare reports, presentations, and technical documentation to communicate findings, recommendations, and progress to key stakeholders.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. This means that the selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate from an accredited course of study in engineering

• Must be legally able to work in Brazil

• Must have advanced/fluent proficiency in reading, writing and speaking in the English language

• Must be registered or eligible to register with the Engineering and Agronomy Regional Council (Conselho Regional de Engenharia e Agronomia - CREA). Applicable to Brazilian, recent engineering graduates within 6 months and foreign engineers when the employer is willing visa sponsor

• Strong knowledge of sustainable aviation fuels, their production processes, and associated technologies

• Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations, and certifications related to sustainable aviation fuels

• Proficient in literature reviews, data analysis, modeling, and simulation tools to evaluate future SAF availability and environmental impact

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically and creatively

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously

• Passion for sustainability, technology development, and a commitment to driving positive environmental change

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in evaluating life cycle assessments (LCA), carbon footprint analysis, techno-economic assessments

• Familiarity with renewable energy sources and their integration into aviation fuel production

• Knowledge of emerging technologies and innovations in sustainable aviation fuels

• Experience in project management and leading interdisciplinary teams

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

This requisition is for a locally hired position in Brazil. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.
