Your Role and Responsibilities

As an IBM Cloud Delivery Consultant, you will learn and experience how we apply technical expertise to ensure world-class delivery using consultative skills such as problem-solving, hypothesis-based methodologies, communication, and service orientation skills. As a member in the Technology Expert Labs team, you will assist IBM Cloud Architects in the design of solutions in the use of IBM Cloud to address our clients' strategic business and technical goals and drive those solutions to fruition through their provision and configure in IBM Cloud.

You will primarily collaborate with our IBM Cloud Architects, Senior Delivery Consultants, business partners and clients to perform the hands-on project work to implement target solution architectures that use IBM Cloud. These projects may include multiple phases from inception, discovery, design, planning, implementation, workload migration, and hand over of the solution to the designated "day 2" operations team. You will provide technical inputs throughout these phases. Solutions are documented as architectures and can include systems, applications, processes, and service components all hosted in IBM Cloud and integrated with client on-premise systems in accordance with their hybrid cloud journey.

Your Responsibilities:

• Validate new technical methods and solution architectures based on IBM Cloud Expert Labs' expertise of client business and technical needs, as well as IBM Cloud capabilities.

• Be a trusted advisor to the client by pro-actively educating and guiding client's understanding and adoption of IBM Cloud technology.

• Provide technical implementation of IBM Cloud technologies throughout the project's lifecycle.

• Engage with key client counterparts as the IBM Cloud technology technical subject matter expert.

• Provide input to create and maintain solution architecture documentation.

• Provide clients with hands-on training on IBM Cloud technologies throughout solution implementation, as well as assistance in handing over the "as built" solution and associated documentation to the client and/or their chosen Day 2 solution operator.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Technical & consultative skills

• B.E./BTech in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience in Computer Science/Information Systems/Engineering

• Expertise in hybrid/multi-cloud networking (firewalls and load balancers), IBM Cloud IaaS and PaaS technologies, workload migration tools, and security and compliance tools and methods.

• Experience with at least two IBM Cloud IaaS and PaaS services: VMware, VPC, Red Hat OpenShift Kubernetes Service (ROKS), IBM Cloud Kubernetes Services (IKS), Veeam, Zerto, and IBM Cloud block and object storage solutions.

• Experience with IT transformation projects and knowledge of IBM Cloud concepts and architectural principles.

• Communicate and implement solution recommendations based on defined solution architectural designs, while also providing hands-on education regarding the solution and its component IBM Cloud technologies.

• Ability to learn new tools and technologies quickly

Necessary Skills

• 3+ years of experience in IBM Cloud

• 3+ years of experience in Cloud solution implementation and migration or relevant industry experience

• Experience in IBM Cloud networking including MPLS, VPN, GRE, VPC, DirectLink, Transit Gateway, Load balancers, Cloud Internet Services, BGP etc.

• Experience in deploying and configuring IBM Cloud firewall solutions such as Juniper, FortiGate, Vyatta etc.

• Experience deploying and configuring solutions in VMware, including detailed knowledge of vCenter, vSphere, vMotion, NSX, vSAN and HCX components

• Experience deploying and configuring Red Hat OpenShift Kubernetes Service (ROKS) or IBM Kubernetes Service (IKS)

• Experience in deploying and configuring IBM Cloud backup solutions such as Veeam, Spectrum Protect etc.

• Experience in the use of workload migration tools such as VMware HCX, VMware vMotion, Veeam, Zerto etc.

• Experience in the development of cloud automation using Ansible, Terraform, DevOps etc.

• Good written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated ability to effectively communicate information to all levels.

• Ability to understand methods and work in a multi-disciplinary team with multiple stakeholders to implement a defined solution architecture and solution approach.

• Determined and self-motivated problem solver who can thrive in dynamic, ambiguous and customer-facing environments

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Experience in deploying and configuring IBM Cloud Classic Infrastructure and VPC Solutions.

• Experience in deploying and configuring IBM Cloud-Native services such as ROKS/IKS.

• Experience in deploying and configuring IBM Cloud for VMware Cloud Foundation solutions.

• Familiarity in deploying and configuring IBM Cloud Security and Compliance Center & Workload Protection.

• Experience with deploying and configuring IBM Cloud Internetworking services such as Transit Gateway, Direct-Links, Load balancers and Gateway appliances etc.

• Experience in deploying and configuring Backup and Disaster-Recovery solutions such as Veeam, Zerto, Spectrum Protect etc.

IBM Technology Expert Labs consultants have the deepest technical expertise and experience in mainframe application platform technologies, they are experts in advising clients on modernization and optimization of database-driven, secure, integrated platforms for high-performance online transaction and data processing, assisting client IT teams advising them on preparing for a hybrid landscape as they modernize their applications.
